The double life of PET bottles.

Would you ever have thought that...

... bottles turn into ECO-REC® to avoid being left in a dumping ground?!

PET bottles of various size coming from separately collected fractions are once again checked to discharge any PVC containers and then reduced into flakes.

ECO SELEKTA collects these flakes in a big container, where they are mixed and homogeneously coloured.

After that, they undergo a process of crystallisation and dehumidification as a preliminary phase before extrusion.

Long threads with a diameter of about 2-3 mm come out of the extruder and run into big cooling vessels, where they are hardened and dried before being turned into beads and sifted according to size.

A big suction conveyor carries them into a crystallisation silo, from which they are again aspired and carried into big “bags” ready for delivery.

This is how ECO-REC, an environmental-friendly product suitable for manufacturing other long-term consumer goods, is produced.

In short, thanks to this exclusive system, ECO SELEKTA makes the life of plastic bottles longer. If one considers that one of the basic human needs is drinking and tries to imagine the total amount of plastic bottles used in the world, one can understand the importance of this innovative product, which was listed among the priorities of the Life Project, the European Community project aiming at protecting the environment.
